As a Design Manager, you will lead and manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with clients, design consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives meet client requirements and expectations.

You will support the Programme Director/Design Director or Senior Project Manager in delivering scope of works to AtkinsRalis and client standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to AtkinsRalis processes, forms, and deliverables, and incorporate client processes when applicable.
  • Assist in developing scope of services for Lead Design Consultants (LDC).
  • Manage and support the procurement of Design Consultants.
  • Develop and implement the Design Management Plan (DMP).
  • Create a design responsibility matrix to clarify roles among clients, PMC, design consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing the Project Quality Plan.
  • Manage the LDC to deliver quality outputs on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of design consultants throughout the project cycle, including technical reviews and interface management.
  • Facilitate effective communication and serve as the main contact between the client and the LDC team.
  • Manage the design process, including progress meetings, workshops, stage gate submissions, and approvals.
  • Review consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with project brief and client requirements.
  • Assist with stakeholder meetings, agendas, minutes, and presentations during the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with document controllers to maintain project information in SharePoint.
  • Support change management processes, including cost and commercial reviews and recommendations.
  • Assist in value management during design stages.
  • Identify and manage risks affecting schedule, budget, quality, and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage the design schedule with project controls and LDC.
  • Ensure all LDC activities comply with BIM requirements, supported by the BIM manager.
  • Oversee sustainability compliance, supported by LEED specialists.
  • Develop statutory approval workflows in alignment with client and authorities.
  • Prepare technical documentation for construction tenders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 13-20 years of experience as a design manager, preferably in hospitality projects.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture.
  • LEED accreditation is advantageous.
  • Previous regional experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
  • Ability to work in a team and be client-facing.
  • Active leadership style.
