Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Resident Engineer(Water Transmission and Distribution) to join our team. In this role you will manage the Mechanical Construction Supervision of major EPC water transmission and distribution Projects in Abu Dhabi Emirate.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Act as the Mechanical Engineer with delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Principal Resident Engineer and the Employer during construction.

  • Communicate directly with the Contractors.

  • Observe and inspect the Contractors’ construction activities.

  • Issue orders to correct non-compliant activities, work, materials, and equipment.

  • Direct, assist, and monitor the construction supervision team, including site Assistant Resident Engineers and Inspectors.

  • Provide assistance and advice to the Employer regarding variations, adjustments, and financial matters.

  • Provide recommendations to the Employer for Contractors’ payments, claims, and variation orders.

  • Advise on contractual and construction matters related.

  • Supervise, review, monitor, and report on progress of the work.

  • Coordinate with design Engineers, Contractors, Employer/PMC, and concerned Authorities.

  • Ensure safety goals are achieved and oversee implementation of safety procedures.

  • Submit reports on accidents or near misses and review Contractor’s HSE reports.

  • Participate in health and safety issues and comply with safety, health, and risk management requirements.

  • Convene and chair regular site meetings.

  • Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

  • Report back to the Principal Resident Engineer or the Senior Principal Resident Engineer as necessary.

  • Participate in contract administration.

  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.

  • Mange the Employer's expectations and update the progress periodically.

  • Act as the Engineer with delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Employer during construction.

  • Ensure that Parsons rights and obligations are fulfilled.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized accredited university.

  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer registration or other similar professional organizations.

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of post-graduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major EPC water transmission/distribution projects of complex nature with previous experience in similar works in UAE/Gulf.

  • Minimum of 5 years as Mechanical Resident Engineer in EPC water transmission or distribution projects.

  • Proven experience in the construction of Mechanical installations including pumping stations, steel tanks, carbon steel pipeline/piping, ductile iron pipeline/piping, welding, etc.

  • Proven ability to perform independently and work in a large multi-discipline team.

  • Must be very organized and have effective problem solving, leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.

  • Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts.

  • Provides specialist services in support of project requirements.

  • Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Good computer skills and software proficiency in related field.
