Responsibilities
  • Check reservations daily for compliance to ensure that the minimum response time is maintained for all reservation requests.
  • Ensure that the quality of reservations is maintained in terms of guest details, rates, payment methods, etc.
  • Plan and use efficient organizational skills to run the daily operation.
  • Organize on-the-job and weekly training for all staff.
  • Keep reservations staff informed on all changes or developments within the hotel and the company.
  • Spot-check reservations made the previous day and check all VIP arrivals.
  • Train, develop, and motivate staff to increase productivity.
  • Keep the department informed of all changes in the customer profile, rates, strategies, promotions and specials.
  • Maximize employee productivity and morale within the department and consistently maintain discipline within hotel guidelines and local regulations.
  • Have a full working knowledge and ability to supervise, train, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks, in the assigned place of work, according to the standards as set.
  • Train employees ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum levels of productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist the department head in preparing necessary reports, documents, duty rosters and other tasks that may be required by management.
  • Understand and utilize a consistent approach to selling in order to support the sales team.
  • Ensure a sales attitude is adopted.
  • Ensure and maintain the security of information relating to customers and personnel in the hotel.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures relating to guest services and all systems.
  • Be computer literate with excellent written and oral proficiency.
  • Have sound knowledge of the English language.
  • Be pleasant in appearance and warm in personality to create a good first impression over the telephone.
  • Able to communicate clearly and willing to help others.
  • Have an eye for accuracy when checking reservations and processing room requests.
  • Be flexible and diplomatic when dealing with demanding and unreasonable guests.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be stated here) as requested.
  • Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
