Overview

Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium food retailer, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to join our Food Manufacturing division in Dubai. This role is vital in ensuring the effective implementation of our Food Safety Management System (FSMS), supporting compliance activities, and maintaining product and process quality in line with regulatory and customer expectations.

Organizational fit

This person reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager (Factories) and works closely with QA Technologists and QC Officers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and verify production processes, critical control points (CCPs), hygiene practices, and FSMS compliance.
  • Investigate quality issues and customer complaints, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Conduct internal training sessions and induction programs on food safety and hygiene for new and existing staff.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, health and safety risk assessments, and mock recall exercises.
  • Collaborate with production and QA Technologists to update SOPs, flowcharts, and training materials.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including food safety reports, non-conformance records, cleaning schedules, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and third-party service providers to address quality issues and ensure alignment with QA standards.
  • Provide support to the Hygiene team in the absence of the Hygiene Supervisor and assist in driving food safety awareness initiatives.
  • Submit weekly reports and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in product and process quality.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a quality assurance role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP, food safety regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven ability to train and guide operational teams on food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, mentor QC officers, and lead quality initiatives on the factory floor.
  • A collaborative and hands-on approach, with a keen eye for identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
