Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to ensure deliveries align with the project schedule.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct internal review meetings for resource optimization, allocation, and productivity enhancement.
  • Review designs, calculations, and drawings; ensure their timely submission after customer approval.
  • Address issues with vendors and ensure timely delivery of materials to the project site.
  • Multitask effectively and deliver multiple tasks on time.
  • Coordinate with inter-discipline managers to resolve design-related issues of equipment.
  • Assist in accurate estimation of quantities for Bill of Materials submission.
  • Review critical issues and procedural delays related to equipment design and support site execution teams.
  • Implement and review BIM in projects.
  • Resolve procurement issues and support supply chain management for vendor order finalization.
  • Assist with BOQ, review pre-bid offers and technical submissions, and provide post-tender clarifications.
  • Lead and manage a team of Design Leads, Engineers, and Draftspersons.
  • Evaluate vendors based on technical specifications.
  • Support site teams with commercial issues and bill processing.
  • Coordinate manufacturing clearance by communicating with suppliers.
  • Clarify client deliverables and resource requirements for the project.
Technical Expertise

The Project Engineering Manager should have comprehensive expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, with thorough knowledge of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 KV.

The candidate must be proficient in selecting equipment such as power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers. They should be well-versed in substation design aspects, including earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, and interfaces between civil, MEP, and instrumentation systems. Secondary engineering activities like schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, and control systems are also essential.

The PEM should have experience in leading and executing projects across different regions and clients, with detailed knowledge of installed equipment and market vendor conditions.

Understanding of contractual technical requirements and the ability to facilitate project teams is crucial. The candidate should possess strong interviewing skills.
