Job description

Progesys is a recognized firm in project management and the optimal transition of these projects from construction to operation. The company has been based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Progesys is looking for a Project Control Manager to work on different projects. The Project Control Manager is responsible for the implementation of the tools, systems and work processes to effectively manage the control and reporting of costs, timelines and project progress. He is also responsible for leading, coordinating, evaluating and supporting a team of project control specialists.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a project control plan as part of the project implementation plan (PEP)
• Develop cost schedules and baseline estimate
• Lead, coordinate, evaluate and support a team of project control specialists
• Analyse variances in costs and timelines against the plan and communicate reasons for variances and proposed mitigation plans to project management
• Supervise the definition and implementation of WBS
• Perform planning, cost control, progress measurement and collection of performance data such as installed quantities and progress measurement data
• Manage and track all changes and potential changes ensuring that cost estimates and schedule changes are visible to the client and project management
• Analyse the risks of the project
• Contribute to team performance while combining technical skills, leadership, teamwork and people‑management skills.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 7 years of experience as Project Control Manager.
• Have a minimum of 12‑15 years of total experience.
• Must have been exposed to large‑scale projects and large project teams.
• Ability to travel within the MENA region for short‑term assignments.
• Experience with project control (cost planning and estimation).
• Strong know‑how in project control tools and work processes.
• Experience in all phases of engineering, procurement and construction.
• Knowledge of contracts and contract administration.
• Experience managing small teams and managing conflicts.
• Proven ability to work with project teams to influence and achieve desired results.
• Proficient in MS Office (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, graphics) and the project.
