JOB SUMMARY
As a swimming pool technician, you would ensure that the water is clean and safe for guests 24 hours a day. You should service and maintain swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs at the hotel premises.
You would also install and service water cleaning, filtering, and purification equipment used for maintaining the pools. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining the pool area in a clean and orderly fashion while ensuring all pool safety rules and regulations are enforced.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
- 3 years of hotel engineering work experience.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The following are specific responsibilities critical to the successful performance of the position:
- Check the swimming pool's water quality and chemical levels twice daily and conduct a 15-day comprehensive test. Reports must be verified by the technical foreman or chief engineer and submitted to the health & safety officer at the end of the day to upload to the DM website.
- Carry out deep cleaning of pools as scheduled and ensure pool tiles are in good condition.
- Transport and store hazardous chemicals safely.
- Pick up trash and clean around swimming pools, restrooms, and suites.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain guest room and main swimming pool water systems, filter systems, and keep the pool pump rooms clean and organized.
- Maintain proper chemical balance for the pool, including pH and chlorine levels, in accordance with DM rules and regulations.
- Maintain the pool and water features using appropriate chemicals and cleaners.
- Maintain pool pumps, filters, and related equipment.
- Keep the pool area, including decks, clean and maintained.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to pool-related work orders to assess and repair machinery or equipment.
- Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Perform scheduled water cleaning using chemicals like chlorine.
- Regularly test and adjust swimming pool water quality and pH levels.
- Keep manual or automated records of all activities and prepare daily and bi-weekly reports.
- Operate and inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Clean and service swimming pool filtration units.
- Service solar heating systems and maintain them in good condition.
- Ensure underwater lights are functioning properly.
- Use pool vacuum cleaners to clean the pool floor.
- Inspect and repair corrosion, cracks, and leaks in pool walls or floors, reporting issues to the supervisor.
- Use telescopic poles with nets to remove leaves and debris.
- Ensure equipment like pool covers, diving boards, and slides are in good working order.
- Log and report equipment faults or water quality issues to the supervisor or chief engineer.
Prerequisites:
Must be organized, personable, poised, well-groomed, and efficient. Experience in pool, spa, and fountain maintenance, including chemical handling, testing, pump maintenance, plumbing, and related tasks, is required.
