Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • 5+ years experience in a similar position for international major projects.
  • Experience in the GCC region preferred.

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Senior/Specialist E&I Engineer – Site based for one of our key clients in Abu Dhabi as part of our ADNOC Gas PMC team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectations, the position will be full‑time site based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record in overseeing and coordinating construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards for a high‑profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:
  • Develop and implement detailed electrical and instrumentation construction plans, schedules and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
  • Monitor and control project costs and schedules for E&I works.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on electrical installations and instrumentation systems.
  • Identify potential risks, implement mitigation measures and enforce strict safety protocols on‑site.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients.
  • Integrate sustainable and energy‑efficient practices and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Oversee construction and contractor‑related electrical and instrumentation deliverables.
  • Supervise E&I works across all areas on small projects or specific disciplines on larger projects.
  • Manage and execute multiple E&I‑related field disciplines or assigned subsets of construction projects.
  • Ensure all activities are executed according to quality standards, codes and project specifications.
  • Control project cost and schedule for assigned disciplines and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage installation, testing, calibration, commissioning and completion activities for electrical systems and instrumentation devices.
  • Coordinate work schedules for E&I personnel to maximize utilisation and meet project timelines.
  • Monitor E&I progress and report status against the approved plan.
  • Define and communicate safety, quality and environmental responsibilities to all personnel.
  • Ensure all personnel receive appropriate training, including health and safety and site‑specific inductions.
  • Initiate and enforce safety, quality and environmental processes, including toolbox talks and risk assessments in compliance with company and client requirements.

Expected:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the offshore/onshore Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry. Minimum (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position for international major (more than 1Billion US$) Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with a diversity of cultures.
