About the job

Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the People & Culture Department, the Communications & Engagement Specialist is responsible for communicating P&C initiatives and fostering employee engagement through various channels such as MyMO/Beekeeper, digital signage, noticeboards and colleagues’ social media and events to ensure alignment with the division goals. The Communications & Engagement Specialist reports to the Director of People & Culture / Assistant Director of People & Culture.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive colleague engagement strategy annually
  • Plan and execute internal communication initiatives to ensure clear and consistent messaging across the hotel
  • Collaborate with various departments to create engaging content for internal communication, announcements, and updates
  • Organise and coordinate colleague events, team‑building activities and recognition programmes to promote a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Monitor and analyse colleagues’ feedback and engagement metrics to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions accordingly
  • Collate various colleague communications such as Town Hall Meetings, Fan of the Month, birthday celebrations, meetings and committees (e.g. sports, social, focus groups)
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends to continuously enhance initiatives
  • Maintain colleague noticeboards with all hotel and local activities, guest comments, Emirates Palace sports teams and other relevant information
  • Produce a monthly colleague activity schedule including sporting events, representative teams, outings such as shopping and tourism visits, gatherings, celebrations and annual parties
  • Facilitate and organise Get‑Togethers such as Majlis and Fan of the Month celebrations, ensuring agendas, certificates and photographs are prepared in advance
  • Ensure all colleague activities are posted in MyMO/Beekeeper
  • Enroll new colleagues in Beekeeper and deactivate leavers
  • Conduct a presentation on Beekeeper during Move‑In Orientation
  • Ensure sports are represented evenly in MOAUH for colleagues, and assist in co‑ordination of Ramadan activities
  • Assist in daily update of colleagues’ birthdays in ‘Day of Delight (DOD)’
  • Prepare the morning briefing sheet for DOP&C / ADOP&C with P&C operational updates
  • Coordinate and arrange a baby basket for newborn babies of colleagues
  • Review and coordinate all colleague suggestions
  • Organise inter‑departmental competitions
Expectations
  • Previous experience in the same role in a high‑volume internationally recognised luxury hotel chain; resort experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication and organisational skills, problem‑solving, detail‑oriented and capable of multitasking
