Summary

This position is affiliated with Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital in the USA. The Consultant in Pediatric Cardiology with experience in Electrophysiology provides expert care for children with heart rhythm disorders, including congenital arrhythmias, supraventricular tachycardia, and other complex electrophysiological conditions.

Education/Qualification:
  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
    • USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
    • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC)
    • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
    • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT), Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland
  • Sub-Specialties: Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-sub-specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience after obtaining the main specialty qualification in United Kingdom (CESR) Portugal, Spain, or Italy
    • Sub-Specialties: Minimum of four (4) years of experience after obtaining the sub-specialty qualification in Portugal, Spain, or Italy.
License:
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and manage children with heart rhythm disorders, including congenital arrhythmias, supraventricular tachycardia, and complex electrophysiological conditions.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic testing, including ECG, Holter monitoring, electrophysiology studies, and cardiac imaging as needed.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including medical therapy, device implantation (pacemakers, defibrillators), and interventional procedures.
  • Collaborate with pediatric cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists to provide integrated care for complex cases.
  • Oversee pre- and post-procedure management, ensuring safe and effective outcomes.
  • Participate in the training, supervision, and mentorship of junior medical staff, residents, and fellows in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology.
  • Engage in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and program development within the electrophysiology service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to patient and family education on heart rhythm disorders, treatment options, and long-term care.
  • Support multidisciplinary team development and enhance the hospital’s electrophysiology program.
