Summary of Main Duties

• To provide primary vision care by administering eye examinations and to determine whether vision correction is needed with the prescription of eyeglasses or contact lenses
• To provide vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation
• To dispense spectacle prescriptions, fit soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses
• To assist in taking patient history, assess vision, refract, and perform diagnostic and screening tests
• To check glasses and contact lenses for accuracy and comfort
• To assist in Refractive Surgery Procedures (LASIK, PRK, Intraocorneal ring segments)
