Job Title -Operations Retail Manager
About the Role
You will lead and oversee the retail operations for toy and kids-products outlets, ensuring smooth store operations, excellent customer experience, inventory accuracy, and commercial performance. This role requires a hands‑on, organized, and customer‑centric approach to manage multiple retail locations (if applicable), coordinate teams, and deliver on sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Management
- Manage day‑to‑day retail store operations, ensuring high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, product display, and customer service.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, till accuracy, and safe management.
- Ensure store compliance with company policies, health & safety guidelines, and retail regulations.
Inventory & Merchandising Management
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, stock replenishment, and shrinkage control.
- Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to maintain optimal product availability.
- Oversee merchandising, product placement, shelf-stock, promotions, and in‑store displays to maximize visibility and sales.
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor store staff, ensuring high customer service standards and operational discipline.
- Create staff schedules, assign roles/tasks, and manage workload for smooth store functioning.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support staff development and engagement.
Customer Experience & Service Excellence
- Ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience for all customers.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, returns, and queries professionally and promptly.
- Drive customer loyalty through service quality, store ambience, and staff attitude.
Sales & Performance Management
- Track store performance metrics: sales targets, conversion rates, average transaction value, and footfall.
- Implement retail initiatives and promotional activities to boost sales and customer engagement.
- Analyze sales data and customer behaviour to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
Operations Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, supply chain, and logistics to ensure timely stock delivery and replenishment.
- Work with marketing and merchandising teams to plan promotions, displays, and seasonal layout changes.
- Collaborate with finance for cash flow, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Store Expansion & Multi-Outlet Management (if applicable)
- Support planning and execution of opening new retail outlets or managing multiple stores across locations.
- Ensure operational standards, brand consistency, and compliance are maintained across all stores.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for scalable retail operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5‑8 years of retail operations experience, ideally in toys, kids products, or fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) retail.
- Proven experience in store management, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service excellence.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people‑management skills.
- Ability to manage staff, motivate teams, and maintain high standards in a customer‑facing retail environment.
- Good numerical and analytical skills to monitor sales metrics, inventory data, and store performance.
- Proficiency with retail POS systems, inventory management software, and basic office applications.
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work retail hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
