The Role Job Purpose : To manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, caring, stimulating environment for children, meeting all regulatory requirements, and leading a team to deliver high standards of early years care and education.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery; Lead, support, and motivate staff to maintain high standards of care and education; Conduct staff supervision, appraisals, training, and development; Manage staff rotas to ensure appropriate ratios are maintained.
- Childcare & Curriculum: Ensure all children receive rich and stimulating learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework or local curriculum requirements; Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning; Ensure individual children’s needs are met and recorded through observations and planning; Build effective relationships with children to support their wellbeing and development.
- Health & Safety: Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times; Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards across the nursery; Carry out regular risk assessments and audits.
- Parent Partnership: Develop strong relationships with parents and carers through daily communication, meetings, and parent events; Handle enquiries, admissions, and maintain up-to-date records of children.
- Administration: Maintain accurate staff and child records; Manage budgets and nursery resources effectively; Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and inspections.
- Requirements: Should be a Russian Speaker; Diploma / Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent; Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a senior nursery role; Strong leadership and organisational skills; Sound knowledge of child development and early years frameworks; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; First Aid and Child Protection certifications (preferred).
