Detailed Job Description

As a Network Security Engineer (F5), you will work within a high-performance security engineering team responsible for designing, optimizing, and securing application delivery platforms. You will lead major migration initiatives, including transitioning services from F5 Viprion to Velos and upgrading workloads from iSeries to rSeries appliances. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex compatibility and performance challenges while ensuring seamless service continuity. You will also contribute to enhancing operational practices, improving automation, and strengthening the organization’s overall security posture. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply deep technical expertise while influencing next‑generation network and security architectures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage F5 technologies including LTM, GTM, and WAF solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end migration from F5 Viprion to Velos platforms ensuring zero‑downtime transitions.
  • Oversee workload upgrades from F5 iSeries to rSeries, including planning, configuration, testing, and post-support.
  • Collaborate with architecture, operations, and application teams to optimize performance and resolve integration challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards throughout migration and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex software, network, and infrastructure issues using advanced tools and debugging methodologies.
  • Develop improved service management practices and mentor engineering teams on technical best practices.
  • Analyze existing processes and implement automation or simplification strategies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption pathways.
  • Contribute to feature enhancements and re‑engineering efforts for critical systems.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and advanced networking concepts.
  • Deep technical expertise in F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM) and F5 WAF.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure Application Gateway and WAF.
  • Knowledge of Pulse Secure, IPS platforms, and Citrix NetScaler.
  • Proven ability to design solution architectures aligned to business requirements.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex infrastructure or application flows.
  • Experience with scripting, automation tools, or programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning capabilities with process visualization skills.
  • Experience in object‑oriented analysis and design principles.
  • Ability to guide junior engineers and influence technical direction.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Experience with F5 Velos and rSeries advanced configurations.
