Stantec is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Monitor mechanical works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Review, approve and process mechanical technical submittals.
• Prepare preliminary answers for RFIs related to mechanical works.
• Coordinate and supervise the pre‑installation work of selected mechanical activities and operations.
• Review contractors' mechanical change‑order proposals and prepare technical recommendations to Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Liaise with the necessary sub‑consultants.
• Assist with the review of contractors' claims related to mechanical works and prepare technical recommendations for claims.
• Review contractors' project record documents relevant to their discipline.
• Assist with the inspection, or inspect, completed works and monitor the start‑up, testing, commissioning and handover of the mechanical works.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 10 years of dedicated supervision experience in similar projects capacity overseeing mechanical works.
• Experience in STP and lifting stations.
• Substantial expertise in the design, construction, and supervision of mechanical works, particularly related to pumping stations and force‑main infrastructure.
• Proficiency in surge analysis and related site tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with the public and coordinate effectively.
• Competence in drafting software, Microsoft Office applications, and specialized tools such as WANDA or Water Hammers.
• Excellent communication skills in English and decision‑making capacity.
• Valid UAE driving license.
