Maintenance Electronic/ Electrical Engineer

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electronic/Electrical Engineer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of electronic and electrical systems across NEP’s broadcast infrastructure, including OB trucks, studios, and data centres. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong diagnostic capabilities and a deep understanding of broadcast standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance and servicing of broadcast equipment and electrical systems (e.g., video routers, audio consoles, UPS systems, power distribution units).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in electronic and electrical systems, both on-site and remotely.
  • Support technical readiness for live events, ensuring equipment is operating at optimal performance.
  • Maintain and update equipment documentation, wiring diagrams, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of new broadcast systems or electrical upgrades.
  • Collaborate with broadcast engineers, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless technical integration.
  • Support health and safety compliance related to electrical infrastructure.
  • Participate in 24/7 technical support rotations for outside broadcasting
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement for replacement components.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Broadcast Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a broadcast or media technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, signal flow, power systems, and low-voltage installations.
  • Familiarity with broadcast systems (e.g., SDI, IP, RF, fibre optics, and signal distribution).
  • Experience with OB truck maintenance and broadcast-grade power systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, during live event coverage.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Electrical Technician License (where applicable)
  • AVIXA CTS, SMPTE or manufacturer certifications (e.g., EVS, Grass Valley, Sony)
  • OSHA or health & safety certifications are a plus
