Overview

We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in El-Ain. The successful candidate must have a passion for books and reading, be organized and have excellent communication skills. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1100. We are open to considering foreign candidates as well.

Qualifications

Job Description & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, organization and development of library services within the El-Ain area. The duties include cataloguing, classifying and filing books; organizing special collections; creating and maintaining library databases; helping patrons locate materials; managing the circulation desk; issuing library cards; training new staff; preparing book displays; maintaining records of library use; assisting with research projects when necessary; updating the library collection on an ongoing basis; creating bibliographic databases; responding to reference requests from patrons both in person or over the phone; providing guidance on how to use the library’s resources & services. The Librarian will also ensure that all materials are kept in good condition through regular cleaning and shelving activities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of library services usage
  • Organize books according to standard cataloguing procedures
  • Create bibliographic databases for easy access by staff & patrons
  • Issue library cards & provide assistance locating materials
  • Keep track of loaned items & ensure timely returns
  • Train new staff on proper usage of library resources
  • Develop special collections based on user needs
  • Prepare book displays & promote new acquisitions
  • Regularly update the collection by acquiring new materials
  • Respond promptly to reference requests from patrons
  • Ensure that all materials are stored properly & kept clean
