Job summary

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking an experienced medical coder to encode diagnoses and procedures accurately using the ICD coding system. Responsibilities include abstracting patient information, understanding insurance policies, and ensuring proper billing guidelines are followed. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, CCS or CPC accreditation, and at least one year of ICD coding experience. Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field, preferably medical.
• CCS or CPC accreditation is required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of ICD coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Encode all relevant diagnoses and procedures using ICD.
• Create abstracts of patient demographics and data.
• Understand health insurance policy terms and requirements.
• Review electronic statements for prescribed diagnostics.
• Assign appropriate codes and send requests to physicians.
• Ensure thorough documentation for coding accuracy.
• Apply guidelines for principal and secondary procedures.
• Review and track approvals for required services.
