Upper School Science/Biology Teacher (MYP & DP)

Join our team as an Upper School Science/Biology Teacher and become an integral part of our commitment to fostering exceptional learning experiences. Working under the guidance of the Head of Science, you'll play a vital role in implementing our school's vision, mission, and pillars to ensure the academic growth and success of our students.

Responsibilities:

Teaching Excellence:

• Craft dynamic lesson plans aligned with our Teaching and Learning Policy, fostering an environment conducive to exceptional learning.
• Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including SEN, EAL, and G&T students.
• Utilise assessment tools effectively to drive student progress and maintain a stimulating learning pace.
• Harness technology to enhance learning experiences and academic advancement.

Maintaining Standards:

• Uphold discipline in line with our 'Behaviour for Learning Policy', encouraging punctuality, uniform adherence, and high academic standards.
• Assess student achievement, provide constructive feedback, and set progressive targets in line with our Marking & Feedback Policy.

Holistic Development:

• Engage in curriculum development for IB programs, contributing innovative and engaging lesson plans.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the field through professional development and continuous learning.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Contribute as an IB Extended Essay Supervisor / Personal Project Supervisor, if needed.
• Participate in Upper School Advisor duties, supporting the Moral Education program.
• Fulfill obligations in the staff duty roster and cover for absent colleagues.
• Assist in exam invigilation and proctoring, as required.
• Engage in ongoing training related to the role.
• Support school events, including the ECA program, fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to high standards consistently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dedication and enthusiasm for IB education and teaching.
• Extensive experience in Science education, especially in IB MYP Science and DP Biology.
• Leadership experience is advantageous.
