The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain HSE management systems in accordance with local regulations and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and HSE metrics for internal reporting and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, standards, and company policies.
- Promote environmental protection initiatives and waste management programs.
- Provide support during emergency response drills and contribute to emergency preparedness planning.
- Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and third-party auditors as required.
- Participate in HSE meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.Minimum [2–5] years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in [construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc.].
- Knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
