Responsibilities
- The Heavy Driver operates large commercial vehicles and heavy machinery to transport equipment, materials, and personnel safely and efficiently across project sites.
- They are responsible for conducting pre-trip inspections, performing maintenance checks, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols while navigating challenging terrains and high-risk industrial environments.
- In addition to driving duties, the Heavy Driver coordinates with logistics teams to plan routes, manage loading and unloading processes, and report any mechanical issues or incidents.
- This role demands strong driving skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and a commitment to safety to support smooth and reliable transportation operations in demanding conditions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience operating heavy vehicles in industrial, construction, or oil & gas environments
- Valid commercial/heavy vehicle driver’s license (appropriate category for region)
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic and safety regulations
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic repair procedures
- Ability to operate in challenging terrains and extreme weather conditions
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with logistics and operations teams
- Familiarity with loading/unloading procedures and securing heavy loads
