Job description

Leams Education is inviting applications from school-experienced Health & Safety Officers with NEBOSH certification to ensure compliance with KHDA/DHA/DM guidelines regarding health and safety protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines to improve health and safety procedures related to student, staff, and property safety and security.
• Monitor the implementation of these procedures.
• Train staff on best practices and Dubai Municipality (DM) & KHDA requirements.
• Conduct training sessions for students and staff.
• Manage the designated isolation room on school premises.
• Provide guidelines on daily cleaning and sanitisation requirements.
• Ensure adherence to DHA regulations.
• Undertake fire safety audits and coordinate with Civil Defense during inspections.
• Conduct evacuation drills and produce reports.
• Deliver fire safety training and orientations to new employees; conduct annual refresher courses and maintain attendance records.
• Identify potential safety or fire hazards; take corrective actions or recommend solutions during inspections.
• Perform contact tracing in coordination with the school clinic and record details in the HASANA system.
• Manage emergency situations following H&S protocols.
• Update contact and emergency information for staff and students.
• Organize stakeholder meetings to address safety priorities.
• Coordinate with operations/maintenance teams to ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Stop unsafe acts or processes.
• Record, investigate incidents, and conduct risk analyses.
• Prepare incident reports and provide statistical data to management.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a school Health and Safety Officer with NEBOSH/IOSH certification.
• Knowledge of safety, accident, and fire prevention principles.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Knowledge of regulatory policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Experience in writing incident reports and safety policies.
• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting statistics.
