We are currently recruiting a well-qualified and experienced Head of Inclusion to join our reputed UK curriculum School in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of the KHDA Inclusion framework and have associated in a similar capacity with schools of repute in UAE.

Prime Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and oversee the strategic development of special education needs policy and provision in the school to support individual student needs.
  2. Lead the inclusion team, manage learning support teachers, LSAs, and support staff to improve pupil progress and attainment.
  3. Experience of using a variety of assessment tools to identify students' needs.
  4. Work with admissions team and phase Heads to ensure all prospective students are accurately assessed prior to enrollment.
  5. Monitor and assess SEN students & Gifted and Talented students' progress and attainment including observations in the classroom and meetings with teachers and parents.
  6. Work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents, and relevant external agencies to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
  7. Provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
  8. Make referrals and liaise with professionals; this could include psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists.
  9. Provide advice, guidance, and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN.
  10. Support teachers to develop modified lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning programmes for pupils with SEN.
  11. Support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom.
  12. Manage and advise on the resources for SEN provision.
  13. Lead CPD briefings, projects, and activities.
  14. Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  15. Manage the inclusion register and associated documents to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  16. Oversee the teaching and support of our SEND and G&T students across the school.
  17. Liaise with all stakeholders including parents, external therapists, and external providers. Analyze school, local, and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
  18. Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. A Bachelor or Master's Degree in Special Education.
  2. A certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed.
  3. At least 2 years of experience leading a successful Inclusion team in the UAE and having led DSIB inspections.
