Job description
Overview

Overall responsibility for inspecting and reviewing all repairs of GSE. Ensure efficiency in operations by monitoring quality control of GSE repairs as per specific guidelines/ manufacturer’s maintenance procedures. These include technical analysis and evaluation of component life, accurate updating of job cards etc. Undertake quality assurance as part of regulatory standards.

Accountabilities
  • The role is responsible to carry out skilled mechanical/electrical maintenance, servicing & repairing ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, light & heavy-duty vehicles) at the workshop and on site. Furthermore, to assist in improving reliability of equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance programs as per departmental SOP.
  • Ensures highest standard of services while carrying out scheduled maintenance or servicing of aircraft ground support equipment, light and heavy-duty vehicles. Perform normal schedule servicing or receive job card for unscheduled maintenance, fault/defect diagnosis, troubleshoot, dismantling, repair, overhaul of major/minor assemblies, testing to rated specifications and performance levels.
  • Simulate on-site fault diagnoses, disassembling engines, removing components and perform post servicing engine test, all electrical systems within the company’s fleet of vehicles and aircraft GSE in addition to standard vehicle DC electrical systems, all “Freon Gas” refrigeration-cooling systems, large semi-hermetic and open type refrigeration compressors, electrical controls shutdown systems as associated with specialized air-conditioning equipment.
  • Modifications & skilled/preventive maintenance on automotive, heavy equipment & vehicles and overhauls of engine/transmission and conduct all line maintenance activities as required.
  • Ensure outstanding work are completed while taking over handover from outgoing shifts and maintains log of daily work record of completed works, materials used, and time spent.
  • Ensure personal grooming, exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self & others, housekeeping and maintain hygiene standards as outlined in station QHSE.
  • Perform post-servicing test for gearbox, steering, brakes and instrument operation.
  • Conduct final and quality inspections on all major repairs done in the workshop before release.
  • Works with lead hand to improve the reliability of equipment strategically and continually through improvements in preventive maintenance.
  • Participates in the training of lower grade mechanics & apprentices; carry out road tests, vehicle and operate equipment.
  • Assist supervisor in prioritization, evaluation, and provide recommendations in accomplishing tasks to the team as required.
Education & Experience
  • Min. 3 to 5 years’ experience in heavy duty vehicles preferably with GSE Experience.
  • Should be either ITI holder or diploma in automobile engineering
  • Should have experience in engine overhaul, transmission overhaul, hydraulics and pneumatics.
