Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Growth Lead to drive customer retention and lifecycle initiatives. This hands-on individual contributor role sits one level below the Growth Director and focuses on executing retention strategies, running experiments, and directly contributing to customer lifetime value growth. You'll work closely with the Growth Director to implement the retention roadmap and collaborate cross-functionally to drive measurable business impact.

Core Responsibilities
  • Hands-On Campaign Execution & Optimization — you'll personally execute retention campaigns from start to finish. Design and build customer lifecycle campaigns including onboarding, activation, and win-back flows. Work with copy team for campaign messaging, design email sequences, and create in-app messaging flows. Set up and configure marketing automation workflows in CRM platforms. Launch campaigns, monitor real-time performance, and make adjustments to improve results. Troubleshoot technical issues with campaign delivery and tracking independently. Manage multi-channel retention campaigns across email, SMS, push, and in-app. Maintain campaign calendars and ensure proper sequencing of communications. Document campaign performance and create post-mortems with learnings.
  • Retention Strategy & Experimentation — Lead retention-focused experiments across all channels to improve key metrics. Design and execute A/B tests with hypothesis-driven test plans. Analyze results, determine winners, and implement learnings into production campaigns. Optimize customer segmentation strategies for personalized retention efforts. Test messaging, timing, and channel combinations to maximize engagement. Build and manage re-engagement campaigns for at-risk customer segments. Contribute ideas to the overall retention strategy and roadmap.
  • Data Analysis & Insights — Personally write SQL queries to pull and analyze customer behavior data. Monitor key retention metrics: churn rate, repeat purchase rate, and customer lifetime value. Build dashboards and reports to track campaign performance and retention trends. Conduct cohort analysis to identify patterns in customer retention and churn. Analyze customer journey data to identify drop-off points and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to the Growth Director and cross-functional teams. Use data to prioritize retention initiatives and track ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with CRM Lead to execute campaigns aligned with brand guidelines. Work with Data Analysts to access customer data and build segments. Collaborate with Product teams to understand user behavior and feature adoption. Support Customer Success initiatives with targeted retention communications. Coordinate with Marketing and Operations teams on messaging consistency and service delivery. Share learnings and best practices across the broader growth organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience — Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field. 6-10 years of experience in growth marketing, retention marketing, or lifecycle marketing. Proven track record of executing successful retention campaigns that improved key metrics. Experience with on-demand services, marketplace, or subscription-based business models preferred. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive projects to completion.
  • Technical Skills — Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis. Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (Braze, CleverTap, Customer.io, or similar). Working knowledge of analytics tools ( Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude ). Experience with A/B testing platforms and statistical analysis. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting. Comfortable with customer segmentation and cohort analysis techniques. Basic understanding of APIs and data integration concepts.
  • Core Competencies & Execution Requirements — Execution-focused mindset; you get things done quickly and efficiently without hand-holding. Strong analytical abilities with comfort working with large datasets. Creative problem-solver who identifies retention opportunities from data. Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Customer-centric mindset with empathy for user experience. Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced startup environments. You personally write SQL queries, build campaigns, analyze test results, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Preferred Qualifications — Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs). Experience with machine learning applications in customer retention. Experience in MENA market or emerging markets. Previous exposure to laundry, delivery, or on-demand service businesses. Knowledge of customer psychology and behavioral economics. Experience with customer research methodologies and VoC programs. Background in CRM strategy or email marketing leadership. Experience working in high-growth startups or scale-ups.

Day-to-Day Reality
  • Morning: Review overnight campaign performance, pull SQL queries to analyze results

  • Afternoon: Sync with CRM lead on campaigns, analyze A/B test results from experiments
  • End of day: Present cohort analysis findings to Growth Director, update retention dashboard
