Job description
About This Role

This position involves supporting Flight Simulator Training Devices and other training devices, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting device issues, and potentially leading shifts or teams. The role requires collaboration with technical specialists, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Support the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Other Training Devices: Attend maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demos, assist during simulator flight tests, support snag clearance activities, etc.
  2. Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs): Conduct daily readiness checks, recurrent QTG runs, update aircraft databases and lesson plans on training devices and related systems, ensuring tasks meet standards and deficiencies are addressed promptly.
  3. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues: Handle AOGs and NAA-raised issues, perform hardware refurbishments, identify recurring issues for permanent solutions, monitor systems, and produce performance reports.
  4. Leadership Roles: May be assigned as Shift Lead, Team Lead, Device Caretaker, or Task Caretaker. Manage responsibilities autonomously, create or update procedures, and improve routines.
  5. Collaborate with Technical Specialists: Work on testing and troubleshooting issues, and undertake special projects as needed.
  6. Mentor & On-the-Job Training: Provide support and training to junior colleagues, pursue knowledge to become a technical expert in specific FSTD systems.
  7. Safety and Compliance: Follow environmental, health, safety standards, and safe working procedures, exercising duty of care.
Shift Lead / Team Lead Responsibilities
  1. Prioritize, plan, and coordinate maintenance tasks, review issues, generate reports, and ensure readiness for evaluations.
  2. Ensure training devices meet KPIs, address projects and issues timely, and clear critical issues within targets.
  3. Participate in meetings, audits, and SLA reviews; act as Deputy Manager or Group Leader in absence.
  4. Assist in performance evaluations, employee development, and knowledge sharing through workshops and training.
