Driven to create unique home-grown food concepts that bring people together, the Independent Food Company is a UAE-based hospitality company with multiple concepts under it’s umbrella – SALT, Switch, Parker’s, Grind, Somewhere and Public.

We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our healthy food concept in Abu Dabhi.

The key requirements will include the following:

Responsibilities
  • Understand requirements for each event , quotations , orderings , manning
  • Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book venues and schedule speakers
  • Research vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
  • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations etc.)
  • Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports to the line manager
  • Coordinate with the chefs and front of house team members on the allocation of the food and beverage servings
Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as event coordinator in the hospitality industry / Event focused OR in Restaurant and Events combined with a Healthy Concept Experience
  • A proven track record of organizing successful events
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred
