Job summary

A global leader in engineering solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of expertise in the Marine Offshore industry, particularly with drilling rigs and oil & gas installations. Responsibilities include overseeing electrical designs, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring project compliance with installation standards. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, promoting innovation and efficiency in engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Marine Offshore industry.
• Experience with drilling rigs and Offshore Oil & Gas installations.
• Project Management qualification preferred, such as PMP or Prince2.

Responsibilities

• Participate in surveys or client RFQ evaluations.
• Carry out electrical detailed design and calculations.
• Prepare/update single-line drawings to meet project specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparing bids and design of solutions.
• Monitor project progress and report to Electrical Manager.
• Ensure preparation of required technical documentation.
• Coordinate electrical subcontractors during installation.
• Ensure implementation of Offshore installation standards.
• Address client's requests and issues.

Position Overview

• Participate in surveys or client RFQ evaluations to understand customer and project requirements;
• Carryout electrical detailed design, sizing and calculations, and verify design done by others;
• Prepare/ update single-line drawings to meet project specifications;
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quotations are received promptly and technical requirements are followed;
• Assist in preparing bids/ offers/ quotations and design of solutions under Lead Electrical Engineer supervision;
• Monitor project progress to ensure schedule and budget targets are met. Submit required report to the Electrical Manager;
• Ensure that required technical documentation is prepared after each project;
• Coordinate the work of electrical subcontractors during installation or advise Project Engineers on electrical work coordination;
• Understand Offshore installation standards and ensure implementation during installation;
• Take the lead & make plans to answer to client's requests/queries/issues.

Profile

Educational background

• Engineering Diploma or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering;

Industry knowledge

• Minimum of 7 years' experience working in Marine Offshore industry, especially with drilling rigs and Offshore Oil & Gas installations;
• Similar experience in Shipyard refurbishment projects will be considered

Essential technical skills

• Good experience and understanding of ATEX, IEC Offshore Installation Standards and Oil & Gas electrical installation requirements;
• Good knowledge of Classification Society Rules (ABS / DNV) electrical requirements;
• Project Management qualification preferred, such as PMP, Prince2 etc.
