AWS has an exciting Data Center Operations Engineer opportunity in Dubai for a UAE national with a family book. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of AWS data centers, supporting all servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to our customers’ innovations. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver safety and security standards while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a UAE National Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our expanding Data Centers (DC) Cloud regions. The Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain AWS data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure following a process-oriented approach.
  • Oversee facility operations and ensure implementation of safety procedures; own safety initiatives and projects.
  • Support electrical and mechanical equipment including UPSs, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs), Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Transformers.
  • Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, emergency generators, HVAC and fire/life safety systems within the data center.
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs and perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
  • Work on a rotating shift schedule (4 days of 12 hours: 2 days followed by 2 nights) with 4 days off, including night, weekend and holiday on-call rotations.
  • Take daily operational readings of all equipment through rounds and log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
  • Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
  • Perform tasks with or without reasonable accommodations, including moving objects/material within safety limits, working in outdoor weather, noisy environments, heights and from ladders.
Qualifications
  • UAE National with family book.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical HVAC systems, Controls) and fundamental electrical theory.
  • Experience leading and managing operations of critical facilities requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical and control systems.
