Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commissioning & Start‑Up Engineering Specialist Professional to join our team and contribute to the planning and implementation of installation testing and commissioning activities at the site. The role involves implementing installation and commissioning design changes, obtaining RMD inspection, and submitting mark‑ups for as‑built project documentation.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Hands‑on testing experience in substation / power plant switchgear and protection activities.
  • Client‑relevant testing and commissioning approval/competencies required for T&C activities.
  • Understanding the sequence of operations in brown‑field projects, permit systems, procedures implementation, and holding approval from the client side.
  • Understanding the green‑field project sequence and coordinating with all stakeholders; overall coordination for entire project execution as commissioning lead.
  • Planning and controlling the overall site installation and commissioning activities to meet deadlines and project closure.
  • Conducting risk and opportunity assessments during site execution to ensure implementation of plans; identifying, reporting and recommending resolutions to management.
  • Preparing procedures, method statements, and activity‑based risk assessments for installation and providing T&C comment sheet replies to obtain site approvals.
  • Implementing risk control according to hierarchy of control methods; initiating and monitoring mitigation plans; updating stakeholders on technical risks; conducting safety observation tours to report and mitigate potential HSE hazards.
  • Coordinating with customers and providing relevant information for installation testing and commissioning assignments; meeting with customers.
  • Involving product FAT inspection at vendor/supplier factories; coordinating testing and commissioning with third‑party testing agencies and supplier service engineers at site.
  • Using standard processes to ensure all installation and commissioning activities comply with required safety regulations, contractual requirements and international standards.
  • OEM relay related training is an added advantage.
  • OEM certified equipment engineer is an additional advantage.
  • Preparing lesson‑learned and RCA for incidents related to commissioning works; circulating among the OU team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in the SS field.
