Role Overview

The Structural Engineer will oversee and manage all structural engineering activities for transportation projects during preconstruction and construction phases. Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is required. The role involves managing design review and construction supervision of underground interchange stations, validating designs provided by D&B contractors, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate structural designs submitted by the D&B contractor for underground interchange stations.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of structural components including foundations, retaining walls, and support systems.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide technical support during construction.
  • Monitor construction activities for adherence to designs and specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify structural quality and integrity.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and update on review and supervision activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to structural engineering aspects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE license or equivalent.
  • Experience in design review and supervision of metro rail or similar infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, especially underground structures and interchange stations.
  • Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000).
  • Familiarity with geotechnical principles.
  • Experience in structural assessments and inspections.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • PMC experience.
  • Knowledge of project management practices.
