Main Purpose

Civil/Structural Inspector who will be responsible for inspecting the installation of steel and concrete structural works within metro rehabilitation projects, ensuring their compliance with the codes and standards within the contract.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional support to the project team, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a coordinated response to clients.
  • Involve delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post.
  • Check site conditions for suitability prior to construction.
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System and Quality Management Plan in line with legislation, certification, contract requirements and parent company governance.
  • Observe, check and record work execution in accordance with approved methods.
  • Manage QA implementation and assure full compliance with extensive QA/QC processes.
  • Check setting-out and levels; check services locations and ensure their protection.
  • Record inspections, tests, and work executed.
  • Observe site safety procedures and actively monitor and report on contractor’s safety performance, raising non-conformance reports when required.
  • Actively monitor implementation of contractor’s quality procedures and raise non-conformance reports when required.
  • Assist in the preparation of ‘As Built’ drawings.
  • Undertake specific projects as required.
Candidate Specification
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering; additional certificates or qualifications in Health and Safety would be preferred.
  • Relevant experience in building construction projects.
  • Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites.
  • Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred.
  • Experience of working on metro stations would be advantageous.
  • Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and deliverables across individuals, teams and projects.
