Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cisco Certified Network Specialist to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of inhouse voice, data, video and wireless network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.

• Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet and intranet systems.

• Ensure network connectivity throughout the company\'s LAN/WAN infrastructure.

• Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis.

• Manage Cisco hardware and IOS upgrades, security patches and network performance optimization.

• Implement and maintain network security, including firewall configuration, VPNs and intrusion detection systems.

• Provide network support and resolve connectivity issues for internal teams and remote locations.

• Document network configurations, changes and maintenance activities.

• Work with vendors and service providers to ensure smooth implementation of projects and services.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for network systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.

• Cisco certifications such as CCNA CCNP or CCIE (preferred and required depending on level).

• Minimum 25 years of experience in network administration or related role.

• Strong knowledge of Cisco routing, switching and security solutions.

• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Wireshark).

• Knowledge of IP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and Layer 2 technologies (STP, VLANs, VTP).

• Understanding of network security practices and tools (ACLs, firewalls, VPN etc.).

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Meraki or SD-WAN technologies.

• Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS networking services).

• Knowledge of VoIP and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations.

• ITIL certification or experience working in an ITIL environment.
