Job Title: Chef Instructor
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef with a passion for teaching and training aspiring chefs. This role requires a strong command of French and Italian cuisine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and mentor students in both hot and cold kitchen techniques, ensuring they develop practical skills and knowledge in French and Italian cuisine.
- Provide constructive and actionable feedback to students to help improve their cooking techniques and presentation skills.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within the kitchen, ensuring health and safety regulations are always followed.
- Conduct hands-on cooking demonstrations and theoretical sessions, allowing students to practice techniques under professional guidance.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
- Encourage creativity and innovation in the kitchen while maintaining authenticity and consistency in French and Italian dishes.
- Stay updated with the latest culinary trends and techniques in French and Italian cuisine and incorporate them into training sessions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts, or equivalent experience from a recognized institution.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef in a professional kitchen, with specialized knowledge in French and Italian cuisine.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring in a culinary school or similar environment is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in both hot and cold kitchen operations, particularly in French and Italian cuisine.
- Excellent command of the language, with the ability to clearly explain complex cooking techniques and concepts.
- Ability to provide constructive and motivating feedback to guide students' improvement.
- Experience in engaging, motivating, and effectively communicating with diverse student groups.
- A genuine passion for education and developing future chefs, with the ability to inspire and encourage students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Well-presented, polite, and approachable at all times.
