Role and location

The Application Manager for Leica Biosystems is responsible for delivering & promoting high quality application support within the META region, achieving revenue growth and high customer satisfaction. This role supports LBS partners and customers throughout the entire journey—from initial engagement to long-term retention. The Application Manager is responsible for managing a small team and delivering training, installation, demonstrations & support onsite. This position is part of the Commercial team, located in Dubai. We expect you to be in the field with our customers, and on a frequent basis at our office. Responsibilities
  • Sales & Product Promotion: Drive sales and awareness of Leica Biosystems reagents through customer /partner visits, product trials, and proactive engagement
  • Customer Acquisition & Business Development: Collaborate with Sales Managers to identify and qualify new customers, targeting both existing and non-Leica users across clinical and research segments.
  • Demonstrations: Coordinate product demos, lead customer visits, and participate in seminars to promote solutions aligned with customer needs and strategic goals.
  • Lead clinical workshops and seminars to introduce new techniques and protocols that enhance pathology outcomes.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and share insights with Sales and Marketing teams, ensuring accurate CRM documentation.
  • Training & Application Support: Provide expert training and application support to customers and colleagues, covering instrument use, software, protocols, and consumables across Leica Biosystems’ portfolio. Deliver hands-on training, lead troubleshooting, mentor peers, and adapt procedures to meet complex customer needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Application Consultants in the region, to achieve revenue targets and strategic goals, including onboarding, training, performance management, and development plans for each team member.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Key Histopathology labs to validate new testing protocols, reagents and instruments, and collaborate with Clinical pathology KOLs to generate and release clinical papers and testimony.
Essential requirements
  • Relevant experience in a Clinical, sales-oriented environment
  • Strong clinical experience in the histology processing & advanced staining field in clinical, research or industrial settings with a practical focus on IHC
  • Experienced in demonstration software applications and presenting solutions to a wide customer audience
  • Proven experience or ability to work in a supervisory role
  • Commercial drive to run support as a business
  • Ability to prioritize team workloads to maximize efficiencies
  • Fluency in English & Arabic, with strong communications skills
Education

BA/BSc in Life Science or equivalent field or Medical Technical Lab-Assistant with relevant lab experience.

Travel requirements

Must be willing to travel within their defined territory up to 80% of their time and also attend Sales and related product meetings as required nationwide.

Nice to have
  • Experience in the optimization, operation, functionality and support of both manual and automated staining instruments and related products is highly desired but not a requirement
