Job Title: Accountant (Construction Experience Required)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily site financial transactions, including petty cash, vendor payments, and site expenses.
- Monitor budgets, job costs, and contract compliance.
- Track and reconcile project-related expenses, change orders, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
- Collaborate with project manager, Finance Manager to review budget variances and provide financial insight
- Prepare and process progress billings, time & material billings, and final invoices.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Coordinate lien releases and supporting documentation for payment applications.
- Process vendor invoices and subcontractor payments related to projects
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Generate monthly project financial reports and dashboards.
- Prepare job cost reports, WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports, and forecasts.
- Assist in monthly and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and construction industry regulations.
- Maintain organized project documentation including contracts, change orders, and insurance certificates.
- Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and project teams.
- Coordinate with the head office finance team for reconciliations and reporting.
- Process and maintain records of subcontractor payments, purchase orders, and material invoices.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized records for audits and internal reviews.
- Ensure all financial activities are in compliance with UAE VAT laws and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of proven accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the construction or contracting industry in the UAE/GCC.
- Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and project financial controls.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on-site.
- Good communication skills for coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Preferred
- Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations (if applicable).
- Fluency in English.
