Job description
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological analyses, including but not limited to: Total aerobic count, Coliform & E. coli, Yeast and Mould, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Lactobacillus & Bifidobacterium spp, antibiotic and phosphatase detection, etc.
- Apply scientific techniques accurately and complete tasks in a timely manner according to quality and accreditation standards.
- Plan and schedule analytical services efficiently based on given instructions.
- Properly collect, process, and record data.
- Ensure cost-effective and accurate sample analyses, meeting target dates and utilizing available resources.
- Report analytical results accurately, promptly, and reliably.
- Assist with administrative duties such as data capturing on the laboratory information management system.
- Manage laboratory stock cost-effectively according to standards.
- Assist with procurement of chemicals and supplies.
- Maintain and ensure equipment is operational and compliant with quality standards.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Help maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Control stock levels appropriately.
- Maintain occupational health and safety standards in the laboratory.
- Contribute to training and mentoring of new or junior staff.
- Adhere to financial policies and procedures.
- Follow occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work overtime when required.
