Reporting to the Vice President, R&D Finance and Business Planning & Evaluation, as the Director, Finance BP - Alliances & Post Deal Management, you will oversee external strategic alliances driven through business development and licensing activities. Your role involves providing financial support during negotiations and managing financial aspects of deals post-completion. This position offers an opportunity to expand your strategic development skills and gain exposure to senior management. You will serve as the Lead Finance Business Partner for CSL finance with the Global Head of Enterprise Alliance Management. This is a hybrid role, combining onsite and remote work.

Your key relationships will include :

• Executive Director, Head of Alliance Management (+Alliance Management Team)
• VP, Global Head of Licensing
• VP, Global Head of Business Development
• VP, Head of Controlling & Reporting, and tax (and team)
• Senior Director, Finance Business Partner Late-Stage Development
• Senior Director, Finance Business Planning and Evaluation (and team)
• Heads of finance for CSL’s operating segments (CSL Behring, CSL Seqirus, CSL Vifor)

The Role :

• Build strong relationships with R&D Leadership, Business Development, Alliance Management, and external finance partners.
• Lead R&D Finance Business Partnering to support CSL’s financial responsibilities for Alliance assets.
• Manage CSL’s Quarterly Post Deal Management governance process, ensuring accurate management information.
• Implement processes to track CSL’s financial obligations and maintain relevant databases.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to ensure effective financial governance and relationship management.
• Support financial modelling, deal analysis, and post-investment reviews.

Other core activities include :

• Support financial forecasting, planning cycles, and strategic insights.
• Drive financial reporting for CSL Alliances.
• Provide insights during deal processes and keep leadership informed of developments.
• Manage financial obligations, disclosures, and strategic decision-support.
• Participate in developing finance capabilities and complex business analyses.

Your Skills and Experience :

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related; MBA or advanced degree preferred; professional certification desirable.
• 10+ years in finance, with experience in business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, alliance finance, and portfolio finance, preferably in Pharma R&D.
• Leadership experience, with ability to influence and motivate teams.
• Expertise in financial modelling, M&A finance, and deal support; BD negotiation experience advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels.
