Job description

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a key mining client in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, is seeking an experienced and qualified Finance Director to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing regular financial reports to support organizational success.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial statements and reports.

Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies.

Manage all financial records effectively.

Develop and lead the South African finance and administrative team.

Oversee budgeting, planning, and management reporting processes.

Manage the annual budget and quarterly cash forecasts, collaborating with external surveyors as needed.

Prepare periodic financial and management reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly) for the executive team and board.

Oversee month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.

Oversee monthly tax submissions, including VAT and other reports.

Engage in stakeholder management to ensure financial transparency and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10+ years of relevant commercial experience.

Profound knowledge of IFRS and consolidation processes.

Extensive experience with statutory reporting in medium to large organizations.

Proven management of month-end review processes.

Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude.
