Job description

We are Looking to appoint as a Level 2 Social Worker

Promoting wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and our services are best placed to offer safety and support to Adults at Risk of abuse and neglect. The Adult Safeguarding Operational Team has responsibility for safeguarding practice within local services and across communities in line with the Joint Multi Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy& Procedure. The fast response work includes ensuring the immediate safety of the Adults at Risk. The team has a strong interface with the Adult Social Care Locality Hubs and maintains a close working relationship with the Safeguarding Adults Board around regional, national and local developments pertaining to Policy and Practice.

The Care Act 2014 places Safeguarding Adults on a statutory footing and these developments are welcomed in Kirklees. We are keen to hear about your skills which should include ability to identify Safeguarding Concerns and analyse the level of associated risk, and how this is underpinned by the principle of ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’, excellent communication skills, excellent recording skills, defensible decision-making skills, and ability to provide timely response to address immediate safety issues.

Working in Social Care is a challenging and rewarding job and safeguarding the most vulnerable citizens of Kirklees is Core Business within Adult Social Care.

With your help we can support Adults at Risk to make informed choices, acknowledge their desired outcomes, remain independent for longer and stay safe. In Kirklees we aim to deliver high quality Adult Safeguarding Services.

If you feel that you can work to deliver the outcomes of adult safeguarding then we would be pleased to hear from you. We are looking for Social Workers to join the team to fulfil this rewarding role in working with adults at risk to ensure safety and protection, preventing abuse and neglect through effective management of risk.

There will be a strong focus upon your own personal professional development to enhance your skills and practice. Our aim is to develop confident and competent practitioners who work to the Kirklees Behaviours, thereby supporting better outcomes for people we work with and equipping you with real and transferable skills for the future.

A full induction will be provided during which the successful candidates will receive support from a very committed, friendly, flexible, and welcoming team.

You must hold a Social Work England recognised professional Social Work Qualification and be registered with the SWE.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.

Flexible working arrangements can be considered in line with the needs of service.
