As part of our continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, transparency, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Showroom Manager to join our sales team in Africa.
Role Purpose
The Showroom Manager – Africa will be responsible for overseeing showroom operations, driving sales growth, managing teams, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This role requires a commercially minded leader with strong retail management experience, preferably within the ceramic tiles or sanitary ware industry, and the flexibility to work across different African markets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Marketing
- Lead showroom sales and marketing activities to achieve and exceed assigned targets.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns within approved budgets.
- Develop and implement effective product promotion and sales strategies.
Showroom Operations
- Establish and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Supervise IT systems and ensure showroom equipment is properly maintained.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock movement and inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely replenishment.
- Ensure accurate product labeling, organized storage, and attractive product displays.
Customer Service & Order Management
- Lead sales and service teams to deliver excellent customer experience.
- Manage wholesale and project-based orders, including coordination of deliveries.
- Handle customer inquiries, escalations, and after-sales support professionally.
Showroom Presentation & Merchandising
- Optimize showroom layout, visual merchandising, and customer flow to maximize sales.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and brand-aligned showroom environment.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Recruit, train, and develop showroom staff.
- Set KPIs, monitor performance, and conduct regular evaluations.
- Manage employee relations and promote a positive, high-performance work culture.
Cost Control & Profitability
- Monitor operational expenses and manage budgets effectively.
- Ensure showroom profitability through cost control and revenue optimization.
Digital Marketing & Online Promotion
- Develop and manage online marketing initiatives, including Douyin and at least three other digital platforms.
- Coordinate digital campaigns to support showroom sales and brand visibility.
Liaison & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with warehouse, planning, logistics, and other internal departments to meet customer and business requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Sales, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail sales and store/showroom management.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in ceramic tiles or sanitary ware sales.
- Proven experience managing teams of 10 or more staff in cross-cultural environments.
- Demonstrated success managing a showroom with monthly sales exceeding USD 100,000.
Key Skills
- Strong cross-departmental communication and coordination skills.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Hindi or Somali is an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and email communication.
- Expertise in sales planning, marketing strategy, inventory management, and brand promotion.
- Ability to analyze customer behavior, develop innovative sales models, and handle operational challenges.
