Sales Representative – Retail Chemicals
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to service and grow our retail customer base. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling chemical products, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring installed equipment is operating correctly. This role requires regular weekly customer visits, hands-on problem solving, and a commitment to delivering the highest level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell chemical products to retail customers and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers
- Conduct weekly customer visits to ensure product satisfaction and service excellence
- Monitor chemical usage and stock levels, and make recommendations where needed
- Perform basic repairs, maintenance, and replacement of installed equipment when required
- Troubleshoot customer issues and provide practical, timely solutions
- Ensure correct product application and adherence to safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of visits, sales activities, and service work
- Represent the company professionally at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, preferably within the retail, chemical, or related industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer-centric mindset with a proactive approach to service
- Technically minded, with the ability to repair or replace basic equipment (training provided if needed)
- Ability to work independently and manage a weekly customer visit schedule
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites
- Basic understanding of safety procedures when handling chemicals (or willingness to learn)
