Job description
Overview

Sovereign, a national supplier of chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Junior Management Accountant 2 in the Agriculture division. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Divisional Financial Manager: Agriculture. The Junior Management Accountant 2 will assist in the financial and production administration of the Agriculture division. This position holds the TASK Grade of T09. The ideal candidate should have a matric certificate or equivalent, a Diploma in Bookkeeping and 2 to 3 year’s work experience in bookkeeping and financial administration. A BCom degree will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timeous financial accounting administration and reporting of broiler division.
  • Maintain financial and operational cost control reconciliation.
  • Complete, analyse and distribute monthly cost analysis.
  • Assist in month-end accounting processes.
  • Capture, compile and reconcile labour broker reports and forecasts. Follow up any pay queries with labour broker.
  • Action ad hoc projects and general tasks as and when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, good understanding of database administration, good working understanding formula’s, pivot tables, graphs.
  • High degree of other computer literacy, i.e. MS Office.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in ERP & financial systems. Syspro would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical ability and financial understanding.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take corrective action.
  • Good time management skills.
