Job summary

A national FMCG group is seeking a Sales Representative in Durban to develop existing and new customer relationships. You will set sales targets, service existing accounts, and report on market competition. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of FMCG sales experience, a Grade 12 education, and a relevant tertiary qualification is preferred. A C1 driver's license is required. The role offers a competitive salary of R10,000 to R15,000, commission after training, and a company car with a fuel allowance.

SUMMARY :

National FMCG group are seeking a Sales Representative in Durban required to cover the area by maintaining and developing new and existing customers by selling products and meeting customer needs. Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.

POSITION INFO : RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set sales targets as per store potential and location and deals involved.
  • Serve customers by selling products and exceed customer needs.
  • Build a sound value add customer relationship with our customers.
  • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Coordinating of sales promotions
  • Identify slow moving products and drive sales on new products.
  • Able to evaluate customers before accepting them.
  • Identify prospect customers and have the ability to convert them to OGD customers.
  • Adjust content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Able to apply OGD sales KPM’s.
  • Able to analyse sales and craft sales action plan.
  • Project management of events.
  • Knowledge of Break-Even Points Analysis.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintenance of the company vehicle
  • Filling in vehicle logbook daily.
  • Complete weekly call cycles
REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12
  • Tertiary qualification with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of industry sales experience (preferable FMCG)
  • C1 driver’s license with (PDP)
  • Experience in dealing with Chain Retail stores
  • Able to speak at least one traditional language
  • Willing to travel everyday (Newcastle or Ladysmith resident preferred)
RUMUNERATION

R10,000 to R15,000 (Negotiable -depending on qualifications and experience)

Commission (after initial 3 month training process)
