Duties & Responsibilities
  • Managing the company's financial operations with excellent and ethical service.
  • Ensuring that there are sufficient skilled staff working efficiently to achieve the finance strategy and goals of the company.
  • Assisting and supporting company managers about all financial matters.
  • Develop, implement and manage the company's financial strategic plan.
  • Oversee the Budget and P&L across all branches according to the approved annual budget.
  • Ensure that accurate financial reports are drawn up and presented to the General Manager and the Group Financial Manager.
  • Manage the financial statements and reports from the Auditor in order to draw up the required management accounts for Directors and Shareholders.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of operational expenses, providing the Project Manager with the data needed to reduce costs and increase profitability.
  • Manage the bank accounts, ensuring all supplier accounts are paid timeously and SWIFTS sent to suppliers to avoid delay in supply.
  • Liaise with banks and other financial service providers regarding all banking and financial issues and in particular the availability of foreign exchange.
  • Oversee and authorize all payments presented by the accounts department.
  • Analyze the suppliers' age analysis and update the purchase order sheet with invoices and payments made.
  • Manage the collections process by analyzing the client age analysis and working closely with the Sales Department about due payments, overdue payments and possible changes in customer profiles.
  • Ensure that the submissions to the Department of Finance are accurate.
  • Oversee and support the Finance and Accounts Supervisor on the supervision of the financial administration particularly with regard to correct account allocations.
  • Sign off on the payroll and authorize payment of salaries.
  • Manage and update all company insurance policies.
  • Liaise with all departments about the insurance documents for company vehicles.
  • Ensure all Goods in Transit schedules have been submitted timeously by the relevant parties.
  • Manage the development and implementation of goals, company policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management and budget accounting.
  • Ensure that the Finance and Accounts Department adheres to Company Internal Regulation and Policies.
  • Managing and planning any required overtime to ensure the efficient running of the department in compliance with legal and labour requirements.
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
  • Preparation of information for Flash reporting, statutory reporting, mid and year end results and EXCO information requests.
  • Sign off on monthly balance sheet recons and ensure compliance.
  • Variance reporting between actuals and budgets.
  • Journal preparation/authorisations and adjustments.
  • Fixed Asset Register management and reconciliation / approval of reconciliations.
  • Preparation and approval of cashbook and preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Inter-company reconciliations and preparation.
  • Prepare monthly Vat calculations and Returns.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for annual tax return.
  • Assist The company Tax Services with the completion process of the provisional tax returns and annual tax returns.
  • Accurate filing and maintenance of a filing system / structure.
  • Ensure proper approval processes have been followed before payments are released.
  • Monitor age analysis to ensure suppliers are paid on time and to follow on longstanding.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the General Manager and/or the Group Managing Director.
