Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Corporate division at Marsh. This role will be based in Stellenbosch hybrid and requires working at least three days a week in the office.

We are searching for a strong and inspirational leader who can drive team members to greater success. The role will report to the relevant Segment Leader and work closely with all segments and functions. The appointed person will be responsible for day‑to‑day management of the Stellenbosch offices, building a positive culture within the branch and performing duties such as servicing and retaining clients, managing relationships with underwriters, developing the team, and providing input into strategic decisions that impact the functional area of responsibility, as well as managing and developing the region’s budget. The role is also responsible for resolving escalated operational issues and collaborating with other departments.

Main Focus
  • Manage and run the Stellenbosch Branch profitably
  • Develop and grow income and business in the Stellenbosch office
  • Train, develop, coach and motivate staff

We will count on you to:
  • Effectively manage office finances by implementing robust credit control measures to minimize outstanding debts and ensure timely payments.
  • Develop accurate financial forecasts and budgets to create a clear financial roadmap for informed decision‑making and proactive management of financial stability.
  • Drive continuous improvement of branch financials by implementing strategies to increase revenue, reduce costs and optimise financial performance. This includes analysing data, identifying improvement areas and launching targeted initiatives to enhance profitability, efficiency and stability.
  • Together with the Segment Leader, manage operational functions feeding into the segment.
  • Draw up annual branch business plan.
  • Implement Best Practice processes and procedures and ensure adherence to them.
  • Manage and measure minimum standards as required by the company.
  • Hold regular meetings between the company and suppliers.
  • Set and manage new business targets.
  • Continuously build relationships between clients, suppliers and the company.
  • Strengthen and enhance client relationships by providing exceptional service, proactive communication and personalised solutions to exceed expectations.
  • Ensure claims are routed to the correct servicing areas in the business.
  • Client‑servicing compatibility management to match client personalities and requirements with the correct skills in the office.
  • Lead efforts to grow the branch’s business, increase market share and identify new business opportunities that fit the organisation’s overall strategy.
  • Establish opportunities across all MMC businesses where corporate clients could benefit from MMC services offered.
What you need to have:
  • Minimum 10 years of appropriate experience in short‑term insurance sales and client service delivery function.
  • Matric relevant formal qualification and AIISA (or similar).
  • Must be FAIS compliant.
  • Must have passed Regulatory Exams level 1.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Fluency in Afrikaans will be an added advantage.
