A Managed Services Provider based in Reston, VA is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer. This role involves high-level troubleshooting, leading infrastructure projects, and mentoring engineers. We are hiring a senior-level Systems Engineer to act as the technical escalation authority across our managed client base. This role blends high-level troubleshooting with infrastructure project execution and consultative client engagement. If you enjoy being the engineer others rely on for the toughest issues while also shaping how environments evolve, this role delivers that balance.
- Own complex escalations across Microsoft, cloud, server, and network environments
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and implement durable, root-cause solutions
- Lead infrastructure upgrades including virtualization, networking, and cloud initiatives
- Support Microsoft 365 including Entra ID, Exchange, Intune, and security controls
- Drive automation and tooling improvements to strengthen service delivery
- Provide technical guidance directly to client stakeholders
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the team
- Proven Tier III experience in an MSP or multi-client environment
- Deep expertise across Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper‑V
- Solid networking capability including firewalls, VPNs, routing, and switching
- Azure and/or AWS cloud experience
- Clear communication skills and strong documentation discipline
- Ability to operate independently and confidently in client‑facing situations
- $100k–$120k base salary with flexibility for exceptional experience
- 20% net commission eligibility on client‑driven growth opportunities
