The Community Psychology Hub (CPH) is dedicated to improving people’s lives through innovative, quality psychological and research services. We work in active collaboration with partners in the social service and public sector to provide care for persons with vulnerabilities alongside their families in the community. Set up by the Ministry of Social and Family Development in 2015, we are a unit sited within SG Enable Ltd, a registered charity and an Institution of a Public Character.

This full‑time position is for the role of a psychologist working with adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs in the Adult Residential Home. This role aims to provide psychological services to individual clients presenting with behavioural issues and/ or mental health concerns, and professional consultation to the staff and caregivers who support our clients. You will be working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within the social service agency (SSA).

Responsibilities

1. Conduct Psychological Assessments

  • Conduct various psychological assessments that address cognitive and adaptive functioning, emotional and behavioural needs, and mental health challenges and other risk behaviours.
  • Conduct various psychological assessments such as Functional behavioural Assessments (FBAs) as part of routine implementation and progress monitoring.
  • Prepare assessment reports with actionable recommendations suited for a residential setting.

2. Deliver Intervention

  • Design and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or behavioural interventions and regular reviews of behavioural data to support individuals with complex needs within a 24hrs/7 days residential setting.
  • Participate in transition‑planning, case management, routine care‑planning and meetings as part of the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Support low‑arousal and crisis management interventions for emotionally or behaviourally complex residents.
  • Provide individual or group interventions aimed at emotion regulation, social skills, adaptive functioning and enhancing communication.
  • Working with SSA staff, allied health professionals and caregivers to better support needs through individual care planning, professional consultation and case discussions.

3. Programme development

  • Contribute to the development or refinement of behavioural support frameworks, resident engagement programmes, environmental or sensory supports, and SoPs for behavioural management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident wellbeing and staff preparedness.

4. Build stakeholder relationships or capacity

  • Design and implement programmes and interventions catered to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs, inclusive of Positive Behaviour Support and other systemic supports.
  • Create and support training to help equip staff and caregivers in relevant areas for supporting clients in SSA and community settings.

5. Uplift professional practice in psychology

  • Provide consultation to other allied health professionals.
  • Participate, facilitate and present in CPH professional development platforms for knowledge‑sharing and enhancement of professional skills.

6. Administrative Duties

  • Provide administrative duties relevant to clinical practices and as required of the SSA.
  • Ensure documentation meets organisational, ethical, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MOH, MSF, NCSS standards if applicable).
  • Maintain data for safety reviews, incident reviews, and risk management protocols.
  • Attend CPH meetings and events when necessary.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports, i.e., monthly KPI tracking as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by reporting officer or Management.

7. Self‑development

  • Attend CPH/SSA endorsed training/workshops/seminars so as to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Receive formal supervision from CPH’s approved supervisors as part of professional development.
Requirements

1. Educational qualifications and work experience

  • A recognised masters’ degree in Applied Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology) from an accredited university. The programme must include a supervised practicum and supervised training in psychological assessments.
  • Registered with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) (Full Membership) and Singapore register of Psychologists (SRP) registration.

2. Experience

  • Relevant experience working with either children or adults with developmental disabilities and/ or providing psychological services in similar settings (i.e., SPED, social services sector) will be an advantage.
  • Experience in administering psychoeducational assessment tools and providing intervention based on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), or conducting Functional Behavioural Analysis (FBA) is preferable.

3. Other qualities
