Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage admission and initial screenings for potential clients
  • Plan and implement evidence-based programmes or interventions to support the psychological and behavioural needs of the clients
  • Coordinate and conduct formal and informal psychological assessment for clients including standardised tests
  • Assess and provide formal diagnosis of developmental conditions (e.g. Autism, Dyslexia, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia) through a written report
  • Provide Psychology assessments for exemption of second language or accommodation for children with learning challenges
  • Provides parent training to parents of children with developmental needs on topics such as play skills, introducing non-verbal communication etc.
  • Provide coaching for social skills on topics such as turn-taking, anger management etc.
  • Collaborate with other professional staff to develop and implement evidence-based strategies and interventions, as well as conduct out-of-centre programmes and school visits when necessary.
  • Provide consultation for families, professional staff, and other stakeholders so as to improve client outcome as well as enhance client's development and/or functioning.
  • Conducts IQ tests and provides reports for enrolment in Special Education Schools
  • Conduct school and home visits, if needed.
  • Update parents regarding sessions and progress after each session (text/photos/videos etc)
  • Updating case notes post-sessions regularly and independently
  • Establishes a good network of and maintains good relations with other professionals in the field
  • Be proactive in keeping abreast of developments in the field of Child and Educational Psychology
Requirements:
  • Masters in Psychology or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society as a Full Member/Registered Psychologist preferred (SRP)
  • Psychologist who are full members of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) are expected to work independently
  • Preferred 3 years or more of relevant experience working with children
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
