Job description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Associate Director specializing in Corporate Communications. Based in Singapore, you will play a strategic leadership role in developing and executing high-impact communications programs for clients across a diverse range of industries in Southeast Asia.

This role blends reputation strategy, executive counsel, and multi-market communications execution. You will lead integrated campaigns, shape corporate narratives, and manage complex stakeholder environments across both traditional and digital channels.

What We’re Looking For

You are a seasoned corporate communications leader with a strong background in managing brand reputation, executive visibility, and strategic messaging. You understand how to influence public perception, handle crises with confidence, and drive narratives that align with your clients’ business objectives.

You bring proven experience in leading multi-market campaigns and high-stakes communications programs. You’ve advised C-suite leaders, crafted thought leadership platforms, and managed media, stakeholder, and internal communications. You're agile, collaborative, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments. You know how to build relationships with journalists, industry peers, and opinion leaders across the region—and you know how to make stories matter.

What We Offer

  • A leadership role in shaping corporate reputation and positioning strategies for high-profile clients across Southeast Asia.
  • A high-impact opportunity within APCO’s global network of communications and public affairs professionals.
  • Access to cutting-edge insights, data, and tools spanning markets and disciplines.
  • Opportunities to advise on corporate transformation, reputation management, ESG, and crisis preparedness.
  • A culture that values entrepreneurial drive, collaboration, and meaningful, measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated corporate communications strategies for multi-market clients.
  • Lead high-stakes reputation management initiatives, including executive visibility, thought leadership, and media relations.
  • Manage complex communications programs tied to business transformation, market expansion, or crisis and issues management.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to clients, providing counsel on brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and narrative development.
  • Lead new business and proposal development efforts across strategic sectors.
  • Mentor team members and ensure best-in-class project delivery and client service.
  • Foster strategic relationships with media, business influencers, and other key stakeholders across the region.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to integrate communications, research, digital, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, corporate affairs, public relations, and reputation management.
  • 5+ years of experience in public affairs consultancy.
  • Proven success leading multi-market campaigns and advising corporate clients on high-visibility issues.
  • Strong understanding of meida environment and landscape.
  • Exceptional writing, messaging, and presentation skills tailored for executives and external stakeholders.
  • Experience providing C-level counsel during communications challenges or transformations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage large-scale programs with precision.
  • Master’s degree in International Studies, Communications, Business, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Mother-tongue level in English.
